Eizan Electric Railways Kurama line reached the 90th year on Dec. 1, 2018 since the opening and is now celebrating the 90th anniversary by holding a few events for one year. As one of the events, a maple red train of series 900 “Kirara” was repainted into maple green color scheme to operate from March 21, 2019 to early December as “Green Maple Kirara.”
Eizan Dentetsu is a private railway which connects Demachiyanagi in Kyoto city and Kurama at the foot of Kurama mountain, a tourist area in North suburb of the city.
Model 900 “Kirara” which made the debut in 1997 is characterized with the large panorama windows enabling the passengers to enjoy the outside lush landscape in four seasons. 2 color trains are in service in the maple red and maple orange colors symbolizing autumn foliage in the area.
You can enjoy operating the current “Kirara” train with recently added “KEIHAN” logo, changed seat color inside and the changed destination displays.
