The DD51 Hokutosei color, which appeared in 1988 as a sleeper limited express train in Hokkaido, is the main diesel locomotive of JR Hokkaido, and is active in pulling the Blue Train (Hokutosei/Cassiopeia) in a heavy train. Due to the reduction in the number of passenger trains, scrapped cars gradually progressed, and the last five cars were retired with the end of normal operation of "Cassiopeia" in March 2016 (Heisei 28).
The size of the front window has been reviewed, the head mark and the shape of the characteristic stay are reproduced, and the tablet catcher and its protective plate have been removed.
