About the actual vehicle
The Odakyu 1000 type was introduced in 1988 (Showa 63) as Odakyu's first vehicle to adopt a stainless steel body and VVVF inverter control. It is operated on all lines of the Odakyu Line, and was once used for direct service to the Chiyoda Subway Line.
There is a wide variety of formations such as 4-car, 6-car, 8-car, and 10-car formations, and 4-car and 6-car formations are also operated in conjunction with other types.
From around 2015 (Heisei 27), updated vehicles with updated running equipment and vehicle interiors began operating. The 1091 formation to be commercialized is a 10-car through formation that was renewed in 2018 (Heisei 30).
