The DF50 is a diesel locomotive whose prototype was manufactured in 1957 to eliminate smoke on non-electrified sub-continental lines, and which was added to the fleet until 1963. The power transmission system is electric, with the main motor driven by DC electricity generated by a generator directly connected to the diesel engine. Among these, the 0-series locomotives were equipped with engines manufactured by Shin Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which was in technical cooperation with Sulzer of Switzerland, and were widely used in the Shikoku region, including on the Dosan Main Line (now the Dosan Line).
The Mani 61 is a type of Mani 60 with the bogies changed from TR11 to TR23, which was designed to reduce vehicle vibration during high-speed operation and prevent damage to luggage.
◆The Mani 61 is the first luggage car to be added to the HO gauge old-style passenger car lineup.
You can enjoy a variety of formations by incorporating it into a passenger train combined with the Oha 35 series and Suha 43 series. It is also recommended for recreating the old luggage trains composed of Mani 60/Mani 61 along with towing engines such as EF58 and DD51.
