Seibu E851 Cement Train
The E851 type electric locomotive was developed by Seibu Railway in 1969 in order to handle cement transportation from the Chichibu area.
It was the first F-class 6-axle electric locomotive in Japan’s private railway sector, and coincided with the opening of the Seibu Chichibu Line, where it was planned to operate alongside passenger services. Mitsubishi Mining Cement also built the TAKI 1900 type tank car and the TEKI 401 type bogie boxcar to begin utilization for freight transportation. The train originally ran from Higashi-Yokoze Station (located near Mitsubishi Cement) to Kokubunji and Ikebukuro. In 1973, following the opening of the JNR Musashino Line, this was changed to a route running between Higashi-Yokoze and Shinakitsu.
Have a great day !!!
