DE10-1500 Series Diesel Locomotives
The DE10 series locomotives belonging to JR Freight's Aichi Depot were active in shunting, engineering trains, and towing freight trains in the Nagoya area.
Locomotive No. 1557 was the only JR Freight updated locomotive without the JRF mark on its side, and it was the last remaining DE10 series locomotive at the Aichi Depot.
In 2024, its final year of service, it was loaned to the Okayama Depot and operated alongside No. 1561, but was retired in March 2025.
The DE10 series locomotives belonging to JR Freight's Okayama Depot were active in shunting at Kurashiki Freight Terminal and towing through freight trains to the Mizushima Rinkai Railway.
Locomotive No. 1561 was the last remaining locomotive at the Okayama Depot, and in addition to the characteristic broken white stripe on the front and black underframe of locomotives that underwent inspection at JR Freight's Hiroshima Depot, silver decorations were added to the chimney and couplers in 2021.
Like locomotive 1557, locomotive 1561 will also be retired in March 2025, and with its retirement in that area, all DE10 locomotives of JR Freight will have been retired.
