Kintetsu 15400 Series "Kagirohi"
The 12200 series is a limited express train with over 160 cars manufactured over eight years starting in 1968 (Showa 43).
Initially introduced as a two-car train, it was expanded to four-car trains by adding intermediate cars due to increased passenger numbers, and two trains were further expanded to six-car trains. It remained in service for a long time, but was withdrawn from regular service in February 2021 (Reiwa 3).
The 15400 series "Kagirohi" was converted in December 2015 (Heisei 23) as part of a tourism development initiative utilizing the abundant tourist resources along the line. Two 2-car trains of the 12200 series were converted into dedicated trains for travel agencies and are now in operation.
