Aichi Loop Railway 2000 Series <Aichi Expo Replica Design Train>
The Aichi Loop Railway is a 45.3 km line connecting Okazaki on the Tokaido Main Line with Kozoji on the Chuo Main Line via Shin-Toyota, which connects with the Nagoya Railroad Toyota Line and Mikawa Line. It is a third-sector railway that opened in January 1988, combining the Okazaki-Shin-Toyota section of the former JNR Okada Line with the newly added Shin-Toyota-Kozoji section.
The Aichi Loop Railway 2000 Series, based on the 313-3000 series, was introduced from 2002 to 2009 and is in service on all sections of the line. Starting March 13, 2025, a commemorative train featuring a replica of the design of the trains that ran at the time will be introduced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Aichi Expo (Aichi Expo), held along the line in 2005.
① The G9 train set, circa 2025, is now available.
② The <Aichi Expo Reproduction Design Train> beautifully recreates the design featuring the official Aichi Expo mascot.
③ The distinctive form, equipped with two PS27-type single-arm pantographs, is recreated using a new mold.
④ The interior seats are colored blue.
⑤ The power unit uses the acclaimed GM-5 motor, ensuring stable running.
⑥ All couplings use body-mounted KATO close-coupled couplers (no hooks). A two-stage electric coupler is included for installation at the front.
*To enjoy coupled operation with previous models, the front coupler must be replaced with the hookless type used in this product.
⑦ Head and tail lights illuminate. Includes a switch to turn them off.
⑧ Destination display stickers are included.
Three lineups are available: the standard blue stripe and green, and the <Aichi Expo Reproduction Design Train>. The green and <Aichi Expo Reproduction Design Train> are the first to feature two pantographs. By combining each set, you can also enjoy a formation where two trains are coupled together, as can be seen in the real thing.
