In 1956, when the Tokaido-Line (major Japanese line through Tokyo to Osaka & Kobe) was fully electrified, a new light-green passenger car was introduced for use with similarly colored electric locomotive. This new color was used because of no worry about smoke soot. (In the era of steam locomotives, the light color could not be used because of smoke soot that heavily darkened trailing cars.)
This train served very rich trip to passengers with Dining Car and 1st. Class Car.
