KATO Seven Star Set
KATO 7011-4 DE10 JR Kyushu Version Diesel Locomotive (N)
The DE10 locomotives belonging to JR Kyushu were first repainted in a black-based color scheme in 2010 for a television program. Following this, all eight units operated by the company were gradually repainted in the same style. The most striking feature of this livery is its bold appearance, with the entire body including the roof finished in black, handrails painted gold, and running board surfaces in vermilion.
These locomotives are normally used for shunting operations and hauling engineering trains, but they have also been assigned to haul the luxury sleeper train “Seven Stars in Kyushu,” attracting significant public attention. They are additionally used for special and charter trains, and in the past have even hauled 24-series passenger cars of the “Twilight Express.”
