Kurosio , this is Japanese " Brack Sea " .
The Kuroshio Current flows northward through the East China Sea, enters the Pacific Ocean via the Tokara Strait, and travels eastward along the Japanese archipelago, reaching the waters off the Boso Peninsula. It is a major warm current flowing near Japan and is also known in the country as the "Japan Current" (*Nihon Kairyū*). The name "Kuroshio"—written in hiragana—is derived from this ocean current. When written in hiragana, it refers to the name of a limited express train; when written in kanji, it refers to the name of the current itself. Yet, the pronunciation remains the same. It is quite fascinating, isn't it?
