10-979    The Tobu 8000 Series 81111 formation is finished in Seiji Cream, a livery that recalls the appearance of Tobu trains from the 1970s and 1980s. This color scheme evokes the atmosphere of earlier operations on the Tobu Tōjō Line, one of Tobu Railway’s main suburban routes running from central Tokyo into Saitama Prefecture.
The formation operates between Shinrinkōen Depot, Tobu’s main maintenance base, and Yorii at the northern end of the line.

10-980   To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Tobu Tōjō Line, one of Tobu Railway’s main suburban routes running from central Tokyo into Saitama Prefecture, the Tobu 8000 Series 81111 formation received a special commemorative repaint in Wine Red No.1 (Budō-iro No.1), a color once used on early Tobu and Tōjō Railway passenger cars. This nostalgic color reproduces the atmosphere of the line’s early years and is currently seen on services between Shinrinkōen Depot (Tobu’s main maintenance base) and Yorii (the northern end of the line).
