JR Kyushu Kiha 200 Series (Seaside Liner, Selectable Car Number) Basic 2-Car Set (Motorized)
The Kiha 200 Series is a diesel-powered train serving the Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line, Kyudai Main Line, and Toyohashi Main Line. Equipped with a 450 hp high-output DMF13HZA engine and a pawl clutch transmission, it boasts a top speed of 110 km/h. The car's body design was created by the Dawn Design Institute, and it features logos throughout the car.
Since 1994, the trains have been deployed in the Nagasaki area, featuring a solid blue paint scheme with red side passenger doors and the "SEA SIDE LINER" logo.
The "Seaside Liner" livery served the Nagasaki area for many years, but was replaced by the YC1 series in March 2021. After that, as they were transferred to the Kyushu region, the livery was gradually changed, with Kiha 200-556 and 1556 being the last to feature the "Seaside Liner color."
