Keihan 10000 Series (First-run Car, Old Paint, Selectable Car Number) 4-Car Set (Motorized)
The Keihan 10000 Series is a four-car commuter train manufactured since 2002. Based on the 7200 Series, it features a 20mm lower floor to reduce the platform height, fully automatic air conditioning, and UV-cut glass. The first-run cars reused parts from the 1900 Series and 2600 Series, such as pantographs and fuse boxes, to reduce costs.
The second-run cars, which appeared after 2006, used almost entirely new parts, including standardized bogies, blackened window frames, and the elimination of interior fluorescent light covers.
When first introduced, the trains were painted a solid turquoise green, but since 2009, they have been gradually updated to the current new paint scheme. Additionally, around 2015, headlights were changed from incandescent to white LEDs.
In 2016, some trains were upgraded to 7-car configurations incorporating 7200 series and 9000 series intermediate cars, and began operating on mainline routes.
■The body and roof of the leading car, which has a different piping configuration, are newly reproduced.
■The prototype is the first-generation car with aluminum side window frames.
■The corporate logo is pre-printed.
■Type and destination signs, priority seating, wheelchair signs, and front one-man operation signs are attached using the included stickers (newly produced).
■Car numbers can be selected from the included car signs (newly produced).
■The lightning arrester is a one-piece sculpture.
■Headlights (incandescent), taillights (red), passing indicator lights (yellow), and front type and destination signs (white) are lit.
■The front passing indicator lights can be turned on or off using the switch on the light unit.
■Equipped with a coreless motor power unit with a flywheel.
■Long seat parts with car end sections are included.
