Seibu 101 Series (Early Version) New Color Scheme 6-Car Set
The Seibu 101 Series was introduced in 1969 alongside the opening of the Seibu Chichibu Line. It was designed to run on the mountainous routes and therefore features a high output power and strong braking performance.
● A total of 278 units were produced. Initially, they were only available in 4-car formations without air conditioning. Later, air was conditioning added to some units, and some formations were expanded to 6-car through trains. It was widely used across most of Seibu's lines (excluding the Seibu Yurakucho Line and Yamaguchi Line), with a maximum formation of 10-cars. And despite being a central part of the Seibu Railway fleet, it eventually retired in 2010 and is now being preserved at the Yokoze Rolling Stock Center Depot.
◆ Marking the 55th anniversary of the Seibu Chichibu Line, we are proud to present the 101 Series, which played a key role in supporting passenger services during its time. We have produced a 6-car set, now finished entirely in yellow, following the removal of the warm gray color around the side windows.
◆ Re-create Seibu line scenes by combining it with the <10-1359 Seibu Railways 5000 Series “Red Arrow”> and <10-431 Seibu E3851 Cement Train> scheduled for release at the same time!
