EMU3000
EMU3000 is the latest express train of Taiwan Railway.
As the flagship of TRA, a total of 600 cars are planned to be introduced, and they will start operation from the end of 2021 to replace the old-style cars operated by the Tze-Chiang (equivalent to a Japanese express train), the passenger train Chu-Kuang (equivalent to a Japanese express train), and the diesel cars on the electrified South Link Line.
Since 2019, TRA has been refreshing its stations and cars based on the idea of "TAILE Aesthetics Revival (FUTURE-RENAISSANCE)".
The EMU3000 is based on this philosophy and has a modern design with a simple monotone base and accent colors on the top of the doors, with the motto "Let's make an express train that we can be proud of in the world." In order to increase the transport capacity of existing trains, the train consists of 12 cars with 20m-class bodies, and the sixth car is coupled with a business class commercial car (Tengyun Zaso), which is equivalent to a green car in Japan.
