JR Kyushu 817 Series 0 (Kumamoto) 2-Car Add-On Set (No Motor)
The JR Kyushu 817 Series is a 20m3-door suburban train introduced to the Kitakyushu area in 2001. Since then, variations have been developed to suit the line, and the trains are active throughout Kyushu.
The 0, 1000, and 1100 series are convertible cross-seat cars with hairline aluminum finish, while the 2000 and 3000 series are long-seat cars with white-painted aluminum bodies. Trains consist of two to three cars per unit. These trains can also be coupled with other models (such as the 813 and 815 series) or combined to form longer trains, contributing to easing congestion in urban areas.
In recent years, the headlights have been changed to white LEDs, marking a change in appearance.
