Shinano Railway SR1 Series

The Shinano Railway SR1 Series is the first new-generation train introduced by Shinano Railway, operating between Karuizawa and Myoko-Kogen.  Based on the E129 Series, which has a proven track record in snowy Niigata, the SR1 Series was introduced to modernize the fleet. Since its establishment during the construction of the Nagano/Hokuriku Shinkansen, Shinano Railway had been operating former JR 115 Series trains since its opening in 1997. In 2020, the SR1 Series was newly manufactured to replace them. The initial batch included three sets for limited express service, followed by general-use trains introduced the next year, including four 200-series sets and three 300-series sets (the latter without de-icing pantographs).

This model features the 200 Series of the SR1—equipped with two pantographs—as seen in service on the Shinano Railway. Its compact 2-car formation is perfect for small layouts, and you can also recreate a realistic 4-car train by coupling two sets together.
①Features the signature silver body of the Shinano Railway with vivid red striping, as well as other distinctive design elements, such as the slim double waistline stripes, gold accent band on the cab side, and the Shinano Railway logo.

Couplers: Body-mounted close couplers without hooks between cars; lead car equipped with a dummy coupler (replacement included).
