813 Series 2200 Type
The 813 series, JR Kyushu's first VVVF inverter-equipped train, entered service in 1994.
Its long production run continued until 2009, during which time various modifications were made to accommodate different configurations and usage scenarios. It is primarily active in the Fukuoka metropolitan area.
The 2200 series, which was developed to increase capacity, features the removal of some of the convertible cross seats from the 200 series and the addition of long seats. It operates in nine-car configurations, with up to three coupled trains.
In recent years, work has been underway to remove the instrument transformers installed around the pantographs.
This new 2200 series, a part of JR Kyushu's flagship 813 series, has been modified to include long seats.
Enjoy this series alongside a variety of other trains operating in the Kyushu region, including the popular 10-1540/1541 787 series "Around the Kyushu."
