JNR Diesel Railcar KiHa 56-200 Series (Trailer)
Introduced in 1961 as a variant of the KiHa 58 series designed for extremely cold regions, the KiHa 56 series was used on various express trains throughout Hokkaido.
Units manufactured from 1968 onwards incorporated design updates—such as curved glass for the front windows—similar to the KiHa 58-1100 and KiHa 28-3000 series, and were classified as the 200 series.

● Headlights, tail lights, and front destination display equipped with a constant-lighting circuit board and ON/OFF switch
● Headlights, tail lights, and front destination display utilize white LEDs
● Headlights use color prisms to emit a light color resembling that of incandescent bulbs
● Front destination display is interchangeable; includes pre-printed parts for "Express," "Rapid," "Local (navy background)," and "Special/Extra"
● JR marks and vehicle numbers are selectable via the included transfer sheet
● Features a new power pickup system and black-finished wheels
● Comes standard with TN Couplers (SP)
