JR 14-500 Series Passenger Cars: "Hamanasu" Basic Set
The express train "Hamanasu" was an overnight express service connecting Aomori and Sapporo, launched in March 1988 to coincide with the opening of the Tsugaru Kaikyo Line.
By 1997, the train's consist had come to include B-class sleeper cars, "Dream Cars" (reclining seat cars), and carpeted sleeper cars. While a seven-car formation was standard, additional B-class sleeper cars and standard seating cars were added during peak travel periods, allowing the train to operate with up to 12 cars.
It supported transport on the Tsugaru Kaikyo Line until its retirement, which coincided with the discontinuation of the "Hamanasu" service upon the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen in March 2016. Recreating the "Hamanasu" express train that connected Aomori and Sapporo

● The Oha 14-500 (Carpet Car) features a newly manufactured replacement air conditioner unit; a two-part construction allows for accurate color separation between light gray and silver

● Equipped with a constant-lighting circuit board for tail lights and the train mark; includes an ON-OFF switch
