JR 209-500 Series Commuter Train (Keiyo Line, Updated) Set
The 209-500 series was introduced in 1998.
Four trains were transferred to the Keiyo Line in 2008 from the Keihin-Tohoku and Negishi lines to replace the 201 series.
With the introduction of the E233-5000 series, three trains were transferred to the Musashino Line, leaving one spare train.
The only 209-500 series remaining on the Keiyo Line has since undergone major equipment upgrades and is now in shared operation with the E233-5000 series, serving on the Keiyo Line as well as the Sotobo and Uchibo Lines.
●The distinctive door edges of the 209-500 series are newly recreated.
●The front end is recreated with a platform detector.
●The undercarriage of the motor car is recreated after the updated equipment.
●Two different silver colors are recreated.
●The front display is pre-printed and interchangeable, and replacement parts are included.
●The front and side panels are recreated with smoked glass.
●The headlights use color prisms to illuminate in a color similar to incandescent light.
●The taillights and front display are illuminated with white LEDs.
●The car number is selectable and a transfer sheet is included.
●The JR mark is pre-printed.
●New current collection system and black wheels are used.
●Uses a flywheel-equipped powertrain.
●Uses an M-13 motor.
