10-1979
The E217 series, introduced at the same time as the 209 series, features a lightweight stainless steel body with four doors, similar to the 209 series. The design of the high operating cab, equipped with a crushable zone in the leading car, has been inherited by subsequent models such as the E231 series, 1000 series, E233 series, and E235 series. Along with its successor, the E235-1000 series, it is still in service today.
●The E217 series was introduced in 1994 as a vehicle for the Yokosuka-Sobu Rapid Line.
●Up until then, three-door commuter trains were the norm, but the E217 series features a four-door lightweight stainless steel body, just like the 209 series that appeared at the same time, and the design of a high driver's cab with a crushable zone in the leading car has been carried over to the E231-1000, E233, and E235 series that appeared later.
●The color scheme of the stripes was changed when the equipment was updated in 2008, and the yaw dampers on the bogies of the green cars were subsequently removed, and these trains continue to be in service today along with their successor, the E235-1000.
●The product will be released in a total of three sets, two sets that make up the basic formation and one set for the additional formation.
●The bogies of the green cars from which the yaw dampers have been removed, as well as the stroller markings, are reproduced.
●The blue and cream stripes will also be changed to a color closer to that of the actual train.
