Seibu Railway 40000 Series 50-subseries "L-train" 6-Car Add-On Set
The "L-train" is a specially wrapped train created in collaboration with the Saitama Seibu Lions, the professional baseball team owned by Seibu Railway. It features the team's signature "Legend Blue" color scheme, adorned with the team logo and photographs of players from the season. The first version debuted in 2010, and the service has continued ever since, with the specific train models and designs evolving over time. In March 2025, a new fourth-generation "L-train" entered service, utilizing the 40000 series 50-subseries. While maintaining the fundamental design of previous "L-trains," this version incorporates the team's "Leo Mark" symbol to foster a closer connection with the Saitama Seibu Lions.
We are releasing a model of the fourth-generation "L-train" shortly after its entry into service. The model accurately reproduces features that distinguish it from standard formations, such as the "Legend Blue" base color with white lower-body sections and the "LONG" display rendered in red. It is an excellent addition to any collection and is perfect for running alongside the popular Seibu Railway 40000 series 50-subseries (Items 10-1961/1962) and the Seibu Railway 40000 series (Items 10-2019–2021). ① Models the 40152 trainset featuring the special wrap applied from March 2025 (Reiwa 7) onwards.
② Recreates the design featuring the Saitama Seibu Lions' team color, "Legend Blue," and team logos applied throughout the train.
③ Accurately reproduces details such as the white-painted lower body section, intermediate car passenger doors with white coloring only on the sections near the center, the "LONG" indicator displayed in red (unlike standard sets), and various logos positioned across the train.
④ The skirt and car-end surfaces are finished in silver without the wrap design.
⑤ Uses body-mounted close-coupling couplers (hookless type) for intermediate connections; the leading car features a dummy coupler.
⑥ Headlights and taillights illuminate (using white LEDs).
⑦ Equipped with a slotless motor for smooth and quiet operation.
⑧ Front destination display is pre-installed; includes two printed replacement front displays and one blank option.
