HOKI 5200 Tosa Lime Industry (2 pcs)
A total of 20 HOKI 5200 cars were manufactured by Hitachi, Ltd. between 1958 and 1961.
These are 30-ton capacity open hopper cars with a distinctive exterior shape. They were designed for gravity-drop loading and unloading, and two cars had a control room for opening and closing the gate-type bottom door on the car body using air pressure, and these cars were always included in train formations. These privately owned freight cars belonged to Tosa Lime Industry and were used on limestone transport trains that ran from the Tosa Lime Industry's private line through the Togano-Tanogo section of the Dosan Main Line to the cement factory. They transported approximately 100,000 tons of limestone per month over a 13km section using a double-headed DF50 locomotive.
