●The Hoki 2500 is a 35-ton hopper freight car manufactured by the Japanese National Railways from 1967 to 1969 for transporting limestone.
●Loading was done from the top, and unloading was done by opening the lid at the bottom of the side and dropping the cargo.
●The body color is a dark brick color.
●The 40 cars manufactured in the early stages were characterized by a row of disks that were used to hammer limestone that had stuck to the opening and closing doors at the bottom of the car body.
●These disks were omitted in later groups.
●Another difference from later groups was that they did not have handrails on the top.
●A total of 172 Hoki 2500 cars were manufactured and were used in the Okutama and Chichibu areas of the Kanto region and the Mino area of the Chubu region, but the type was eliminated by 1999.
