A7192 Meitetsu Kiha 8500 Series Limited Express Northern Alps Intermediate car connection 3-car set
-In 1991, Meitetsu introduced the Kiha 8500 series as a successor to the Kiha 8000 series for the Takayama Main Line limited express [Northern Alps].
-At that time, JR Tokai was able to connect with the Kiha 85 series that was introduced for the limited express [Hida], and it was equipped with a British engine and boasted a maximum speed of 120km/h.
-A total of 5 cars, the top car (Kiha 8501 to 8504) and the middle car (Kiha 8555), have appeared, and the front through roads of Kiha 8501 and 8502 are the same size as Kiha 85.
-The car body is made of rounded ordinary steel, and features large side windows that follow the Meitetsu 1000 series and rooms that take into consideration the view, such as the adoption of a high-decker structure.
-The body color is refreshing with light green and bright yellow bands on an ivory base, and the windows are painted dark brown.
-Since its appearance, it was active on the limited express [Northern Alps] and some limited expresses on the Meitetsu Line, but retired in 2001.
