The limited express "Kamoshika" is a train connecting Akita and Aomori, and started operation as a limited express train connecting to "Komachi" in 1997 with the opening of the Akita Shinkansen.
In 2010, with the opening of the entire Tohoku Shinkansen line, the 485 series limited express "Kamoshika" was discontinued in the form of being renamed to the "Tsugaru" limited express that had previously connected Hirosaki and Hachinohe.
The train set for "Kamoka" was a short 3-car train set for the 485 series, but it was also active in a 6-car set that connected 2 trainsets during the busy season.
