JR E2-1000 series Tohoku Shinkansen (Yamabiko) extension set B
The E2 Series 1000s was developed in 2001 based on the conventional E2 Series 0s for the opening of Hachinohe on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
Since March 2012, the train has been operating between Tokyo and Fukushima in combination with the Yamagata Shinkansen "Tsubasa" instead of the conventional E4 series.
