The Kiha 47 type 8000 generation is a vehicle that has been updated with the engine of the Kiha 47 type 0 generation inherited by JR Kyushu.

The ``Romancing Saga'' project, a collaboration between Saga Prefecture and Square Enix's RPG series ``Saga'', has been ongoing since 2014.
From October 2022, all 16 cars at the Karatsu Rolling Stock Center that run on the Karatsu Line and Chikuhi Line in Saga Prefecture, including 7 Kiha 125s and 9 Kiha 47s, will each be wrapped in a different design. It is active as a train.

-Reproduce the different body characteristics and wrapping for each Kiha 47 type car
-Kiha 47-8121 type (Yoshinogari Historical Park number) and 8134 type (Tonbai wall number) reproduce the appearance without the louver and toilet window on the side of the car body and the water tank on the roof.
-Kiha 47-8157 (Okawa Uchiyama) does not have a louver on the side of the car, and the rest of the toilet window and water tank on the roof are reproduced.
-Jumper hose can be reproduced three-dimensionally with separate parts
-Typhon can be selected from 4 types of "shutter type" and "slit type" each large and small.
-The front display is replaceable and has the printed parts "Saga" installed.
- Replacement front display parts “Nishikarutsu” and “Taku” included
-Head/tail lights, front display section equipped with always-on board, with ON-OFF switch
-Head/tail lights and front display section are lit by white LEDs
-The headlights use color prisms to light up in a color similar to that of a light bulb.
-H rubber is reproduced in black
