JR Series 209-2100 Commuter Train (Boso Livery / 6-Car Set)
The Series 209-2100 is a commuter train that entered service in 2009 to replace the Series 113 and 211 trains previously operated in the Boso area.
All cars were converted from units previously used on other lines; modifications included installing semi-cross seating in the lead cars and restrooms in the intermediate cars.
The trains were operated in 6-car and 4-car configurations, and until March 2021, they were also run as combined 10-car sets.
● Replicates the configuration of one Moha 208 car featuring an installed restroom
● Replicates the Kuha 209 and Kuha 208 cars modified with semi-cross seating
● Replicates the reinforced-type cowcatchers (skirts) on the lead cars
● Replicates the smooth (bead-free) finish on the car body ends
● Front destination display uses interchangeable, pre-printed parts; replacement parts are included
● Car numbers are selectable via the included transfer sheet
● Headlights, taillights, and front destination displays feature a constant-lighting circuit board with an ON/OFF switch
● Headlights, taillights, and front destination displays utilize white LEDs
● TN Coupler (SP) equipped only on the cab end of the lead cars
● Motorized unit features a flywheel
● Uses a new power pickup system and black wheels
● Equipped with an M-13 motor
