JR New 205 Series Commuter Train (Keiyo Line) Set
・The 205 series is a commuter-type electric train that debuted in 1984.
・The 205 series trains used on the Keiyo Line were introduced in 1989 to coincide with the line's full opening to Tokyo Station.
・While sharing basic specifications with the 0-subseries trains operating on other lines, the 12 sets introduced to the Keiyo Line featured a completely redesigned front end; combined with a new color scheme (Red No. 14), this gave them a strikingly different appearance.
・A key feature of these trains is their capability for medium-distance operations—including a top speed of 110 km/h—to accommodate through-services onto the Sotobo and Uchibo lines.
・In later years, obstacle deflectors (skirts) were installed, similar to trains on other lines. From 2000 onwards, the lineup became more diverse with the addition of 201 series trains and 205 series units transferred from the Yamanote Line.
・The successor E233-5000 series debuted in 2010; the 205 series trains were gradually replaced by these new models and transferred to other lines.
