Tarumi Railway TDE10 type diesel locomotive
Tarumi Railway TDE10 Diesel Locomotive
The Tarumi Railway TDE10 diesel locomotive was introduced when the railway opened. At the time of opening, three locomotives were in service: one newly manufactured unit and two units transferred from the Isohara-Rinkai Railway.
Initially, they were painted in a color scheme similar to that of the Japanese National Railways. Later, locomotive No. 1 had a V-shaped white stripe added to the front and sides of the cab, and locomotive No. 2 was repainted in a blue and yellow scheme for use on the "Ususumi Fantasia" excursion train.
Locomotives Nos. 1 and 2 remained in service until the complete discontinuation of freight trains in 2006.
