The 227-500 series "Kizashi" is a new DC electric train developed by JR West for the Yamaguchi area, entering service in June 2026.
It primarily operates on the Sanyo Line (between Iwakuni and Shimonoseki).

The 211-2000 series is a suburban electric train featuring longitudinal seating that entered service in 1986 to replace the 111 and 113 series trains on the Tokaido Line.

The KiHa 47-0 series is a variant designed primarily for warmer regions in western Japan, featuring two-pane vertically sliding unit windows.
JR Shikoku inherited 19 units of the KiHa 47-0 series and 13 units of the KiHa 47-1000 series from the Japanese National Railways (JNR), and in 1988, the entire KiHa 40 series fleet underwent modifications to install air-conditioning systems.
