This model is manufactured by Duewag in 1950 in Germany, one of the trams which were manufactured after the war utilizing the parts of the trams that had been damaged in the war. This model was a tram which was improved based on KSW (Kriegsstraßenbahnwagen (wartime trams)) that had been mass produced for use in Austria and Poland, etc. The same model trams still exist in Germany for private businesses or are preserved in operative conditions.
This particular model was presented to Hiroshima city by its sister city Hanover in 1988 and due to this history it is nicknamed “Hiroshima-Hannover Tram” and popular among Hiroshima citizens.
