Trip Express . Kyoto Tango Railway KTR8000 Series ("Tango no Umi") Basic Set

The KTR8000 series is a limited express diesel trainset introduced by Kitakinki Tango Railway in 1996; originally nicknamed "Tango Discovery," it was primarily used for the limited express service of the same name until March 2011.
The "Tango no Umi" version debuted in 2015 following a major refurbishment of the KTR8000 series, designed to evoke the image of "Kyoto by the Sea."
All vehicles of this series had undergone this refurbishment by September 2017.
Currently, they operate on the "Tango Relay" limited express (running solely within the Kyoto Tango Railway network) and on select "Maizuru" and "Hashidate" limited express services that run through to Kyoto Station via JR lines.
