E353 ``Azusa/Kaiji“ of JR East Japan now joins the series of Kato Starter Sets. E353, which started the business operation in December, 2017, was a successor of E257 and E351 that had been in service under the nicknames of “Azusa” or “Kaiji”. As a major character, it has high curving performance equal to E351 by employing car-body tilting system using air spring. The simple and powerful paint-scheme feels very speedy like symbolizing the next generation limited express train, donning violet belts on the alpine white body. This is a starter set comprising a train, Uni-track and power pack, all in one, recommended to beginners of model railroad hobby. The power pack is standard SX with high output of 1.2A.
●The prototype is the S203+S103 train belonging to Matsumoto Vehicle Center.
●The front shape exudes a sense of speed, and the paint color of the powerful design is realistically reproduced just like the real thing.
●Uses KATO's original car body tilt mechanism. Tilt the car body to get closer to the real thing. -Reproduces realistic curve passing scenes. -Rooftop antennas are already installed, the cooler has an unpainted stainless steel central body, and the front and rear covers are painted silver. -Uses a slotless motor, Achieves smoother and quieter running. The intermediate coupling section uses a body-mounted close-coupled coupler (without hooks). The front end of cars 1 and 12 uses a dummy coupler that reproduces the covered form. Cars 3 and 4 The front of the car features a body-mounted close-coupling coupler (without hook) that reproduces the electrical connector. Headlights and taillights light up. All five headlights are on. The seats in the car are reproduced in purple for regular cars and brown for green cars. Car number, no smoking sign, and wheelchair sign are printed. Destination display stickers are included. "Super Azusa", "Azusa", "Kaiji" " and many other destinations are planned to be included. If you collect all three sets, you can store all 12 cars in the bookcase of the additional set and the attached set. The bookcase of the attached set can also store the basic set (4 cars).
