ICE 4 “Federal Republic of Germany”
The ICE4 “Federal Republic of Germany” train began operation in 2021 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the start of ICE operations. The train features a commemorative livery in the colors of the German flag (black, red, and gold (yellow) from top to bottom). It is nicknamed “Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Federal Republic of Germany)” and its name is printed on the side of the leading car. The 13-car train, called “XXL,” has one more second-class car than the 12-car train.
A new lineup has been added to KATO's ICE4 series. The 13-car train, which is longer than previous products, will be produced with a commemorative livery featuring a band with the German flag pattern. We recommend combining it with existing ICE4s as well as high-speed trains from other European countries.
① The body stripe is decorated with the colors of the German flag, and the formation name "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" on the side of the leading car is reproduced.
② The markings, door edges, door switches, etc. are printed.
③ Compared to conventional products, the 13-car formation is reproduced like the actual vehicle, with a second-class car similar to car 3 connected to car 4.
④ The bogies of the trailer cars have wheels with exposed brake discs. Black-dyed wheels are used in accordance with the appearance image of the actual vehicle.
⑤ One motor car is included in each of the basic set and the add-on set. In consideration of the coordination of the motor cars, the motor cars in the add-on set do not have traction tires.
⑥ The use of a slotless motor achieves smooth and quiet running performance.
⑦ A dedicated lighting plate for the interior lights that matches the length of the car body is already installed. It can be lit by combining it with the separately sold LED interior light clear.
⑧ The intermediate coupling part uses a coupler that is easy to connect and reproduces the full-circumference holo.
⑨ Head/tail lights light up. The headlights use warm white LEDs.
