Freight Car
REMU 5000 is the first to be produced as a scale model by Kato. The real freight car was the last two-axle refrigerated freight car of JNR, manufactured between 1964 and 1969. Depending on the manufacturing period, the roof shape varies, and they can be separated to those made in earlier (5000〜 ) periods and those made in the later period (6000〜 ). REMU 5000 is characterized with better heat insulating capacity than conventional refrigerating cars. The horizontal blue belt was painted to show this capacity.
●The prototype is the earlier model with fewer roof ribs.
●Reproduces the paint color of the blue No. 15 wrapped around a white car body.
●Different car numbers are set for the Hanawa Line freight train 8-car set and the single item (2 cars).
●Equipped with a suspension mechanism in the axle bearing section to achieve stable running
