ED75-700 electric locomotive (late model, Akita Rolling Stock Center)
The ED75-700 series was introduced in 1971 and was equipped with salt damage prevention measures in consideration of its use on the Japan Sea coast, such as the Ou Main Line and Uetsu Main Line.
The vehicles inherited by JR East at the time of privatization have already been retired, due to the abolition of passenger trains, etc.
ED75-700 series have been kept at Akita Rolling Stock Center since the 2000s, and in addition to construction and special trains, they also pulled some freight trains until 2008.
Currently, the No. 767 is in use.
