JR Series 227 "Red Wing" Suburban Train Add-On
The Series 227 is a suburban train that entered service in 2015, operating primarily in the Hiroshima area as Local and Rapid services.
The livery features a "Red" base color inspired by the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine and the Japanese maple (Hiroshima Prefecture's official tree), along with the "Red Wing" nickname and "Hiroshima City Network" logos.
As of January 2025, the fleet consists of 63 three-car sets and 42 two-car sets.

● Models the later-production version of the train
● Front destination display uses interchangeable, pre-printed parts; replacement parts included
● Fall-prevention gangway covers on the leading cars are separate parts; two types included (one for standalone operation, one for coupled operation)
● "Red Wing" logo and JR mark are pre-printed
● Headlights and taillights use white LEDs; fog lights use color prisms to replicate yellow illumination
● Headlights, taillights, and front destination displays feature a constant-lighting circuit board with an ON/OFF switch
● Leading car cab ends equipped with TN Couplers (SP)
● Car numbers are selectable via transfer sheet (included with the basic set)
● Uses a new power pickup system and silver wheels
