JR 923 Series Shinkansen Electric and Track General Test Car (Doctor Yellow) Add-on Set
The 923 Series is an electric and track general test car for the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines. It was manufactured in 2000 to operate at 270 km/h and replace the aging 922 Series.
This seven-car train is based on the 700 Series, with cars 1-3 and 6 used for electrical equipment testing, car 4 for track equipment testing, and the remaining cars for meeting rooms and tour guides' rooms.
The car's body color, yellow with blue stripes, is different from the standard Tokaido Shinkansen trains, earning it the nickname "Doctor Yellow."
