JNR 72/73 Series Commuter Train (Ome Line) Set
Old-model JNR trains were used on the Ome Line until 1978, with the KuMoHa 40 series remaining in service until the end, along with the 72 and 73 series.
Old-model JNR trains on the Ome Line mainly consisted of two-car formations (KuMoHa + KuHa) or two of these coupled together in the 1960s. However, after the introduction of MoHa 72 and SaHa 78 around 1972, the majority of trains were four-car formations (KuMoHa 73 + SaHa 78 + MoHa 72 + KuHa 79).
●The odd-numbered KuMoHa 73 cars are modernized with direction signs and exposed air ducts on the front.
●SaHa 78 is a modified accommodation car with double-pane aluminum sash windows.
●KuHa 79 is a model that retains the shape of the former 63 Series.
●MoHa 72 is a modified accommodation car from the 500 series with aluminum sash door windows.
●MoHa 72 is a model equipped with DT20 bogies.
●Combined with the <9018> KuMoHa 40, it can be used to recreate the 5-car formation seen on the Ome-Itsukaichi Line during rush hour.

● The KuMoHa 73's service number display illuminates in a near-white color using a color prism.
● The service number display is a pre-printed part with a choice of "Tachikawa, Ome, Okutama, Musashi-Itsukaichi" options.
● The front sign comes with pre-printed parts for "Tachikawa, Ome, Okutama, Musashi-Itsukaichi" or unprinted options.
● The head and tail lights and service number display are equipped with a constant-on circuit board and an ON-OFF switch.
