24 Series 25-100 Type Hayabusa Limited Express Sleeper Passenger Car
The 24 Series 25-100 type is a limited express sleeper passenger car that debuted in 1976. The Hayabusa sleeper express train connected Tokyo and Nishi-Kagoshima, and from 1980 onwards, it boasted the longest running distance of any train in Japan. In 1985, a lounge car was added to the Hayabusa sleeper express, making it a 15-car train. The EF66-0 type locomotives, previously used for freight trains, were replaced by the EF65-1000 type locomotives that had been used for Blue Trains, marking the first time the EF66-0 type locomotives were used to haul Blue Trains.
