JR 209-1000 Series Train (Chuo Line) Basic Set
The 209-1000 series was introduced in 1999 to increase the number of local trains on the Joban Line.
The body is based on the 209-500 series, and is characterized by a change in the front mask due to the installation of emergency doors for direct subway access and the adoption of a straight body similar to the 0 series.
Commercial operation began in 2019 on the Chuo Line to secure spare cars for modification following the introduction of the E233 series green cars.
Since the specifications of this car are significantly different from the E233 series, it is mainly used only on the Chuo Line (Tokyo to Takao).
